NEON PLEASURES. PERFORMANCE / COMMISSION.
Dance floor, DJ set, neon face paint, video, UV light, collective ritual.
Commissioned by No Goods, NEON PLEASURES transformed the dance floor into a temporary zone of fluorescent transformation. Under UV light, faces became luminous surfaces as glowing paint dissolved familiar features into shifting masks, temporary tribes, and speculative identities.Hovering between nightclub, ritual, and collective fiction, the work invited visitors to surrender to a choreography of colour, movement, and exaggerated self-presentation.
Neon cheekbones, bright white smiles, and painted skin turned the crowd itself into a living installation, where bodies continuously emerged and disappeared in the blue light.Rather than separating performers from participants, NEON PLEASURES operated through shared atmosphere. Face painting became an act of temporary affiliation, while dancing offered a playful rehearsal of other selves. The work unfolded through collective presence, inviting strangers to become part of the same glowing mythology for the duration of the night.
