I SAW THE SIGN (OOOO IS ENOUGH ENOUGH (2013/2014)

BLOKK, BERGEN (2013) & FLARE FESTIVAL, MANCHESTER (2014). PERFORMANCE.
Playhouse, video installation, DJ set, jelly shots, popcorn machine, roller skates,  performative fiction.

Hidden behind black curtains, the work unfolded as an immersive environment where visitors crossed into a parallel social space. A playhouse, a mounted deer head, video projections, popcorn, jelly shots, and a DJ set assembled a landscape that oscillated between celebration, dream, and disorientation.

Operating through fragmented symbols rather than narrative, the installation invited audiences to inhabit a world where familiar social codes had quietly dissolved. The space resisted clear distinctions between party and performance, hospitality and ritual, spectator and participant. Meaning emerged through atmosphere, repetition, and the collective experience of lingering within an environment that felt simultaneously playful and uncanny.

The work transformed ordinary gestures into performative acts, allowing fiction to circulate through encounters, objects, and shared presence. Entering the room became less an act of observation than of crossing into a temporary social reality governed by its own logic.

“Welcome to the hidden world behind black curtains. Where the signs are shown but not spoken and the zones have dissolved. The dusk is dawn and the shadow is gone. Will it ever be enough? Jump into the rabbit hole and join us towards a new future behind all the lost faces.”
